Blue Origin LLC Manufacturing Engineer III in Seattle, Washington

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will be responsible for providing manufacturing definition in support of Blue Origin's TeraWave Satellite Program. Tasks will include creating build & flow documents, design for manufacturing, creating manufacturing BOMs, authoring work instructions, determining build schedules, and supporting the product on the production floor. You will work in a cross functional team role with tooling engineering, facilities engineering, and project management functions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Creating build & flow artifacts including items like build plan, duration estimates, index plan, condition of assembly, DFMEAs and PFMEAs Performing trades with vehicle level and subsystem design teams to better enable manufacturing build and flow, ultimately achieving rate targets. Lead development efforts to create the current build plan that enable takt and cycle times. Follow the build onto the floor and be the technical point of contact during build execution Standing up the work center that the vehicle will be produced in by identifying and procuring required tools, providing facility requirements for space or utilities, and organizing the overall work area Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering. Prior internship experience in areas of aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle structures, automotive manufacturing or similar. Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, including knowledge of GD&T. Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc). 5+ years operating in an aerospace environment. Preferred Qualifications: Hands on experience with building flight hardware 10+ year experience in an engineering capacity, including internships Experience with design, development or production of launch vehicle, spacecraft, or satellites. Proficient with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (Creo or CATIA V5) Customer focused with a proven track record to work cooperatively with teams of different skills across large geographic distances.
