Zillow, Inc. seeks Manager, Software Development Engineering (Big Data) in Seattle, WA. Job Duties: Work closely with product managers to align engineering priorities with business goals, collaborate with data scientists to develop data pipelines and analytic solutions, partner with program managers to meet project timelines, and engage with other engineering leaders to share knowledge and drive organizational success. Growing the team through mentorship and hiring. Leading through strategic direction setting for the team, focusing on designing and implementing scalable, robust, and efficient big data systems. Leading all aspects of the software development/engineering lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Ensure the team adheres to best practices in coding standards, architectural design, and system scalability. Being accountable for delivering high-quality software product services and values through the team. This role will be responsible for managing a team of 5-8 software developers specializing in big data technologies. Telecommuting permitted. Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related qualitative discipline and four (4) years of experience in job offered or four (4) years of experience in the field of software engineering or closely related occupation. Special Skills: 1) Experience leading and managing a team of two (2) or more software engineers. 2) Requirement gathering. 3) Big Data Technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Google BigQuery or Amazon Redshift. 4) NoSQL Databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, to determine the proper database for the stead to API data access. 5) Cloud technologies such as AWS or Google Azure. 6) Experience preparing and delivering reports to customers using data visualization dashboards (i.e. Tableau). Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable. Salary: $212,202 - $263,500 per year. Medical, dental, vision, & basic life insurance, 401K, PTO & holidays.
