ABOUT THE POSITION: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing, or arranging for, the repair and maintenance of the physical assets (property and equipment) for Compass Housing Alliance, a multi-facility housing agency with 20+ buildings in the Seattle-King County Metropolitan area. This is a unionized position, represented by Local 8 of the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU).
LOCATION: 210 ALA, JPP, Blaine, PeaBody House, Cesar Chavez House, Dexter Admin May at times require work at other program sites
REPORTS TO: Senior Facilities Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
SCHEDULE: Tuesday-Saturday 7am-3:30pm; with weekly staff meetings on Wednesday at 1pm
LUNCH: Unpaid (30 minutes)
SALARY RANGE: $34.02 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience working in a maintenance or facilities capacity or related field.
- Technical school or maintenance-related certification, preferred
- Awareness and/or training around belonging, compassion, and meeting people where they are, preferred.
- Familiarity with issues of housing instability, mental health, substance use, sexual assault, and/or domestic violence, preferred.
- Experience working in an environment where language may be a barrier, preferred.
- Valid WA driver's license, and a driving record that meets Compass standards, preferred.
Work experience is a key factor for success in this role. In addition, success in this role requires a passion for knowledge and drive for continuing professional development or education. A degree in a related field would be a complement to the required experience
