University of Washington Maintenance Mechanic Door Specialist in Seattle, Washington

Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time day shift Maintenance Mechanic – Door Specialist .

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 100% FTE

  • Day Shift

  • 7 AM – 3:30 PM Monday - Friday

POSTION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Perform skilled work in the installation, alteration, maintenance, repair and construction of a variety of doors, and door systems with an emphasis on automated door systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Complete installation of new automated or manual door systems, sliding, swinging, revolving or rolling and ADA Openers

  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain automated door systems, such as manual, electric, electronic, electro-mechanical, electro-hydraulic, and pneumatic

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair Life Safety Fire Door systems as well as all associated records for purposes of Regulatory Compliance required by JCAHO, DOH, OSHA, WSHA or other regulatory agencies

  • Specify suitable hardware, doors, and automated equipment to meet institutional facilities requirements

  • Install low voltage electronic wiring related to automatic door systems

  • Perform metal, sheet metal work

  • Maintain and repair weather stripping, screens and mirrors.

  • Operate power equipment such as saws, jointers, lathes, sanders, planers, boring and mortising machines. Clean, sharpen and maintain equipment noted above as well as hand tools.

  • Develop preliminary cost estimates for installation and repairs.

  • Drive Engineering service truck as required, also, load and unload materials and supplies.

  • Maintain inventory of replacement parts and tools.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a journey worker, OR full-journey status in a trade; OR four years’ applicable work experience.

  • Vocational training may be substituted for work experience on a year-for-year basis. Also requires certifications for Door Hardware Installer and light gauge welding within six months of employment.

  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license may be required.

  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$35.72 hourly

Pay Range Maximum:

$47.52 hourly
