Amazon IT Application Engineer II, FinTech General Ledger in Seattle, Washington
Description
Amazon Finance Technology (FinTech) isn't just building software—we're engineering the financial backbone that enables Amazon's explosive global expansion. We're looking for an Oracle Applications Developer to join our Close Orchestration team (GL PILOT - Process Innovation, Ledger Onboarding and Task Automation), where you'll power the systems that ensure timely, accurate financial closes across one of the world's most complex financial operations.

You will be working on Oracle ERP platforms that orchestrate end-to-end month-end close processes across General Ledger and critical sub-ledgers (AP, AR, Fixed Assets). Every automation you build, directly impacts Amazon's ability to close books faster, more accurately, and with greater confidence.
As part of our the Close Orchestration vertical, you'll get opportunity to
Invent breakthrough automation that eliminates manual intervention and accelerates close cycles
Owns critical GL functions that enable timely accounting period closures across the enterprise
Collaborates with top-tier engineering talent who are redefining what's possible in financial close operations
Key job responsibilities
Collaborate with customers to work on enhancements to existing workflows or creating new workflows,
Enhance and simplify complex customization's and Integrations to enhance customer experience.
Leverage AWS tech stack to build downstream integrations to data lakes.
Define and enhance Operational Engineering excellence metrics and Engineering excellence metrics.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
Knowledge of accounting principles, processes, and entries
Knowledge of database query technologies (SQL)
Experience in software development, or experience in Oracle DB
Experience using Oracle, or experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making
Experience building or supporting automation solutions for financial systems
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of data engineering pipelines, cloud solutions, ETL management, databases, visualizations and analytical platforms
Experience with AWS or cloud technologies
Experience with Oracle EBS or Oracle Cloud Financials
Background in scaling or optimizing month-end close processes

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
