Job Description

Harborview Medical Center Environmental Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Hospital Custodian Supervisor .

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 100% FTE (40 hours per week)

  • Night Shift​, 11:00pm-7:30am

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Supervise a team of 25+ custodians and one Custodial Supervisor

  • Train staff and manage administrative tasks such as supply levels, staffing needs, training requirements, and department procedures

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a second-line supervisor in the custodial department

  • Interview and recommend candidates, conduct training, schedule work, handle leave requests, complete evaluations, and recommend disciplinary actions

  • Determine staffing needs, analyze workloads, and assign duties accordingly

  • Train new hires in the Housekeeping and Linen departments

  • Supervise day shift custodial staff in the Trauma Emergency Room to ensure proper cleaning procedures

  • Inspect facilities, monitor hand hygiene compliance, retrain staff when needed, and report to the Operations Manager

  • Prepare custodial reports, including equipment inventories and procedural documentation

REQUIRMENTS

  • Three years of experience in custodial or general maintenance work

  • Two years of experience as a Custodian Supervisor 1

  • Equivalent education and experience may substitute for required qualifications
