Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! - Honeybee Robotics is looking for a Ground Data Software Systems Engineer to develop a Ground Data System for a robotic lunar mission. This will be the first American robotic Rover to explore lunar surface and enable the collection of valuable scientific data. You will be a critical part of the team, responsible for negotiating requirements with stakeholders, developing the GDS alongside mission operations working groups, conducting mission simulations, and integrating the GDS into the mission operations center. Software development and systems engineering skills will be required to design, develop and test a robust GDS for a time-constrained lunar mission. Creative problem-solving and a proactive approach will be critical to your success in this role. Planned Tasks / Responsibilities Ground Data System (GDS) Development Integration with backend data systems Integration with other subsystems' data architectures Collaborate with testbed teams to refine models and tools Work with systems team to understand requirements and interfaces Work with mission operations working groups Mission tool development Mapping, Rover pose determination, localization Image processing & identification Rover path planning with rough mathematical models, power analysis, thermal predictions, system performance trending, etc. Coordinate with hardware and software teams to refine tools Required Skills 5-6 years of relevant experience in mission / GDS design & development Proficient in developing in C++ Experience in defining and negotiating requirements with key stakeholders Experience in running validation and verification activities Adept with Git version control system. Background in ground systems software and mission planning. Demonstrated knowledge and application of best practices for design of spaceflight systems Proficient in applying testing frameworks and conducting unit tests. Familiarity with automated testing methodologies and continuous integration practices. Preferred Skills Experience with navigation visualization tools. Skilled in Python scripting Firsthand experience on development of spaceflight missions Firsthand experience with spaceflight mission operations Experience in designing system validation tests Compensation Range for: CA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20 CO applicants is $110,938.00 - $155,312.85 WA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20 Other site ranges may differ Culture Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
