Blue Origin LLC Flight Software Systems Engineer III - New Glenn in Seattle, Washington

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. As part of a small team you'll lead the development, integration, and validation of software for the New Glenn rocket system. This is a very hands-on role where your job will evolve alongside the lifecycle of the software used both on and off the vehicle. We're looking for an engineer with with excellent technical and communication skills, preferably with experience in control systems methodologies and/or methods for verifying and validating safety critical software. You'll be able to influence system-level aspects of the software design, ensuring that we're building a streamlined and verifiable software solution. A successful candidate has the skills to work at a system level as well as dive into technical areas to resolve issues as they arise. Launch vehicles today are systems of software systems, and this is role is pivotal in qualifying that system for flight. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Qualifications: B.S. degree computer science, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering or related technical discipline 3+ years relevant experience with software and/or control systems Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Experience in the full lifecycle development of aerospace systems, including requirement definition, design solution definition, implementation, integration, verification and validation, qualification, commissioning and operation Desired: M.S. or PhD in computer science, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering or related technical discipline Demonstrated experience with MATLAB and Simulink and auto-coding methods Hands-on experience with embedded software testing and test development Experience with aerospace vehicles (e.g., Boeing 787, 777x, Orion) and model-based design (MBD) methodologies leading to certification of human spaceflight systems Compensation Range for: WA applicants is $130,706.00 - $182,987.70 Other site ranges may differ Culture Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
