Alliance Technical Group, LLC Environmental Safety Support Coordinator in Seattle, Washington

Description JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective The Environmental Safety Support Coordinator will assist the Environmental Safety Manager to ensure safe working conditions as they apply to environmental and laboratory hazards for all Alliance employees. The Environmental Safety Support Coordinator will ensure relevant training is completed and maintain environmental and laboratory safety libraries. Starting pay range $20 - $25 per hour. Essential Functions Assign, schedule, track, and control records regarding environmental and laboratory safety related training for all Alliance employees. Assign, schedule, track, and control records regarding new hire laboratory staff safety training. Assign and track Hazmat / Dangerous Goods shipping certifications and assist in obtaining FedEx Hazmat Shipping Authorization for certificate holders. Maintain Alliance's Safety Data Sheet library. Maintain Alliance's Master Chemical Inventory. Periodically collaborate on topics for the weekly safety newsletter. Assist with the completion of pre-qualification forms, information requests, and new / existing customer updates as they relate to environmental and lab safety. Collaborate with all employees within the Alliance safety department and report any discrepancies in the stated goals of the department (cultural, process, procedure, or policy). Ensure all Alliance team members have necessary access to all safety related documentation and procedures. Maintain safety required documentation and participate in external and internal audits. Ensure adherence to Alliance safety policies and documentation. Promote a positive safety culture for all team members. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities Required Qualifications AS or BS degree preferred. Minimum 2 years' experience in environmental, health or safety administration. Experience with laboratory safety is desirable. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software. Strong people skills. Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines. Initiative-taking attitude with a strong desire to learn and take on new responsibilities. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting with constant sitting and occasional standing. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods and the use of hands to finger is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force is rare. While performing the duties of this job, good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculators, and copiers is needed. The employee is occasionally required to stand. Exposure to extreme environmental conditions or industrial hazards is not applicable.
