Actalent Embedded Software Engineer in Seattle, Washington

Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer

Job Description

The Embedded Software Engineer will lead the development of software-defined radio systems supporting telecommunication services in deep space. This role includes designing and implementing embedded C/C++ software, and architecting mechanisms for FPGA and processor initialization. The engineer will be responsible for software system integration, debugging, and ensuring requirements traceability while working closely with FPGA Engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of software-defined radio systems for deep space telecommunication services.

  • Design and implement embedded C/C++ software solutions.

  • Architect and implement mechanisms for FPGA and processor initialization.

  • Own software system integration and debugging processes.

  • Ensure requirements traceability is maintained throughout development.

  • Collaborate closely with FPGA Engineers to ensure seamless integration.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Embedded C and C++ programming.

  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).

  • Strong skills in Python programming.

  • Experience in spaceflight and telecommunication systems.

  • Ability to architect and implement software solutions.

  • Understanding of FPGA toolchains.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • Experience in space flight development.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seattle, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $95.00/hr.
