EPAM Systems Director, Account Management - Energy in Seattle, Washington

Our ideal candidate will act as a portfolio owner for Energy Clients across the Energy Lifecycle (i.e., Upstream, Downstream, Midstream, Utilities, etc.), partnering with other EPAM Account Managers, Functional Experts, Delivery Managers, and Delivery Teams to help customers achieve their goals. Responsibilities

  • Act as the Client Partner with clients, internal teams, and BU Heads / Sales Leads owning large complex accounts or portfolio of medium-sized accounts

  • Align with EPAM Account Managers and Account Management Senior Leadership to co-develop / support account plans and strategies for delivery, growth, and client satisfaction

  • Serve as the engagement owner and work directly with client business and/or IT teams to position the engagement and EPAM for success

  • Understand the intersection between technology and customers

  • Serve as an expert Consultant leading Business Transformation/Product strategies and roadmaps

  • Stay up to date on industry trends and market changes that impact clients’ businesses. Use this knowledge to engage C-suite leaders in strategic AI discussions and highlight how EPAM’s AI solutions can address their operational, sustainability, and digital transformation needs

  • Develop and oversee delivery approaches and work closely with project/program management to ensure successful delivery through an integrated delivery model

  • Responsible for shaping solutions and properly scoping / pricing engagements, establishing optimal operating models and project team organization, and leading the transition from the sales process to the delivery phase

  • Serve as the product owner; partner with clients to help craft the product vision and roadmaps and create compelling customer value propositions and strategies

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on aspects of the Energy lifecycle that aligns your specialization

  • Establish and cultivate strong relationships with clients at senior levels as well as external and internal partners to maximize growth within an account/client portfolio

  • Develop effective relationships with key internal executives, BU heads, Solution SMEs, and Sales and Delivery Leaders

  • Deliver EPAM’s growth and performance objectives

  • Drive account revenue within the client/account portfolio as well as accelerate opportunities to influence and sell in end-to-end EPAM services

  • Align with EPAM BU’s goals and objectives, and support company financial goals by achieving revenue and profit targets

  • Support sales / pre-sales activities by acting as the lead to assess opportunities, respond to RFPs, create proposals and presentations, establish relationships with clients and prospective clients, and help to close/sign new deals. Leverage AI tools to accelerate development of relevant artifacts and requisite intelligence to support pursuits

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of demonstrated track record of developing and growing Energy client relationships and leading teams delivering end-to-end solutions in Energy space and 5+ years of experience with P&L, Sales, and Account Management roles

  • 10–20 years of hands-on experience in the Energy sector, working directly with operators, service providers, or organizations supporting energy clients

  • Deep expertise and specialization in specific aspects of the energy lifecycle, with a preference for experience in one or more of the following areas: Downstream, Midstream, Utilities, LNG, Power Generation, Renewables, etc.

  • Exceptional leadership/management skills and superb verbal and written communication skills, with seasoned presentation skills, executive presence, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong understanding of how AI, ML, and automation are changing the Energy sector, with a proven ability to identify and develop AI use cases such as, predictive maintenance, digital twins, smart grid management, and AI-powered knowledge systems, and work with teams to turn these into business opportunities

  • Ability to operate at the strategic level yet being close enough to the details to add value to clients and be a real support to the team

  • Track record of leading teams and contributing to cross-functional teams

  • Strong problem-solving and creative thinking abilities with attentiveness to details and execution

  • Broad knowledge of technology, business models, and trends across a wide spectrum of technical solution offerings for enterprises

  • Strong Energy industry knowledge or experience with particular emphasis on strategy, consulting, team management, and product development

  • Experience in managing and monitoring performance metrics across accounts and accounts portfolios

  • Effectively manages up and down

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
