Position Digital Merchandise Coordinator
Description
Hybrid: Three (3) in-office days to be determined
Compensation: $25 - $27 per hour
Position Overview:
We are looking for an ambitious, detail-oriented, and collaborative Digital Merchandising Coordinator to join the Outdoor Research Direct to Consumer (DTC) team. This role will manage our digital product catalog, including seasonal launches, product discovery, merchandising, pricing, promotion/sale management, and end-of-life processes. Your primary job functions require a blend of art and science, where you will be required to translate product and website performance data into actionable insights that better bring our product stories to life on site.
In this role, you help ensure our Shopify storefront provides a unique and elevated shopping experience that matches the expectations of our loyal and new customers. You will work collaboratively with Customer Service, Demand Planning, Product Development, and Brand Marketing team members, along with the rest of the DTC team. The Digital Merchandising Coordinator will report to the Ecommerce Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Build, launch, and maintain all digital product listings
Manage product discovery and category page merchandising, aligned to DTC editorial calendar and brand storytelling throughout the year
Own the item attribution, categorization, seasonal presentations, and visual filter management to enhance customer navigation
Coordinate product launches by partnering with product managers, inventory, and marketing teams to ensure accurate images, inventory presentation, and compelling product copy
Manage technical aspects of product catalog maintenance, including routine Excel imports, Notify Me functionality, product setup, and redirect management
Develop and analyze merchandising reports to inform ongoing site merchandising strategies and optimizations, supporting overall site KPIs
Explore and leverage AI-powered tools and automations to enhance our merchandising strategy and present a more personalized experience to our customers
Proactively identify areas of opportunity for new products, address digital product-related issues, and determine needs for onsite merchandising and product discovery
Monitor competitive landscape for emerging DTC merchandising trends and identify opportunities for continued innovation on OR.com
Position Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in e-commerce, marketing, communications, or related field
0-2 years’ experience working in ecommerce, any Shopify exposure a plus
Experience working in Excel (including V-Lookups) and bulk managing large data files
Exposure and/or some familiarity with Google Analytics and/or other marketing or ecommerce analytics tools
Strong quantitative skills to analyze sales reports & campaign results and implement action plans
Strong project management, problem solving, and communication skills with the proven ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines with attention to detail
Ability to demonstrate big picture thinking and knowledge of company initiatives, business priorities and cross-functional relationships that can be translated to customer-facing strategies
Self-motivated, results-oriented team player mentality
Adaptable to changing priorities and flexible to urgent issues
Desire to consistently learn and apply new technologies
Passion for the outdoors and Outdoor Research’s core activities is a plus
