Location:WA-Seattle Job Title: Digital Content Center Producer - KIRO TV Position Overview KIRO 7 News is seeking a Digital Content Center Producer. This role is central to how we cover breaking news, elevate enterprise journalism, and connect with audiences across web, mobile, OTT, and social platforms. The ideal candidate brings strong editorial judgment, sharp writing and editing skills, and a deep understanding of what drives reach, engagement, and trust on digital and social platforms. They thrive in fast-moving news environments, know how to identify and advance stories, and can make smart, timely decisions under pressure. This is a hands-on, on-site role within the content center. Digital Content Center Producers collaborate closely with broadcast producers, reporters, and newsroom leaders to ensure KIRO 7 is first, fastest, and most accurate online-while setting the editorial tone and pace for digital coverage throughout the day. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Monitor local and national news, field calls and tips, listen to police/emergency scanners, and navigate the court systems Communicate and coordinate with newsroom staff and sources as stories develop Write and post for the website, mobile app, social media, and push alerts Ensure daily content generation goals are met Stream breaking news, big coverage events, and newscasts Exercise strong editorial judgment during high-volume news events Collaborate with newsroom teams to integrate digital storytelling into broadcast workflows and strengthen cross-platform coordination Use analytics tools (Chartbeat, Tableau) to guide content decisions and optimize performance Apply SEO best practices to headlines, alerts, and story structure while meeting daily content production goals Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Digital Media, or related field or equivalent experience Proven ability to manage breaking news in a fast-paced, multitasking environment Strong writer Solid editorial judgment with a deep understanding of digital audiences and content performance Expertise in SEO, streaming, analytics tools, CMS workflows, and social media publishing platforms Understanding of AP Style, media law, and ethical journalism standards Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as news demands; this is an on-site essential role The wage scale for this position is $20.00 per hour to $35.00 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by a variety of factors such as skills, certifications, and relevant work experience.
