Blue Origin LLC Developer - Software Engineer I in Seattle, Washington

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As part of a hardworking team of spacecraft development engineers, you will contribute to the development of the Guidance, Navigation & Control software as Software Engineer I. You will contribute to the code development of flight and simulation software technical baselines, software architecture, GNC algorithm implementation, and interfaces across multiple spacecraft to enable mission closure. You will engage with the cross-program software organizations to ensure spacecraft as-built configurations of hardware and software meets the mission needs. You will support the integrated GN&C subsystem hardware and software through the full lifecycle starting at preliminary system level definition, detailed subsystem design and performance analysis, vehicle assembly, verification, system validation, mission certification, and mission operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Software architecture level design and code development Software unit level and integration testing Conduct periodic code reviews and support software deployments Coordination of interfaces, build schedules, and technical designs with cross-discipline software organization Develop automation to improve the productivity of the team resources and drive efficiency into the team operations Minimum Qualifications: B.S. degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 2+ years of demonstrated experience in software development Experience with real-time embedded software code development on spacecraft or launch vehicle flight systems in C++ and Rust Experience with full-lifecycle software development from requirements definition through deployment Experience with validation and verification approaches such as software unit testing, system simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing or integrated subsystem testing Experience with software development in C, C++, Rust, Python Experience with development and deployment of CI/CD systems Experience with collaboration tools such as Gitlab, Docker, Confluence, and Jira Experience in writing of software to satsify system requirements * Avionics hardware and software integration experience Highly organized team player with excellent technical written and verbal communication skills Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of safety. Preferred Qualifications: B.S. in the subject disciplines Previous experience with individual technical disciplines of spacecraft navigation, orbital guidance, and spacecraft propulsive trajectory and attitude controls Previous experience with software development under NASA NPR 7150.2D or FAA DO-178C standards Experience NASA simulation tools and environments (Trick/JEOD/cFS) Compensation Range for: CA applicants is $110,623.00 - $154,871.85 CO applicants is $101,405.00 - $141,966.30 WA applicants is $110,6
