WSP USA Business Line Project Delivery Director in Seattle, Washington

This Opportunity

The Business Line Project Delivery Director is a part of Advisory & Planning’s Operations and Delivery Team with the responsibility of driving project delivery and project performance excellence. The Project Delivery Director will oversee a team of Regional Project Delivery Leaders and Project Directors who collectively will provide project execution leadership and support to project managers (PMs) through all phases of project delivery.

This position can be based out of any of our WSP USA offices.

Your Impact

  • In partnership with the Strategic Growth Team and the Business Development Director, establish and communicate best practices for Go / No-Go (GNG) and Proposal Submission reviews and ensure compliance with WSP procedures for documenting these decisions.

  • Support proposal development with a strong focus on project performance and risk management, including:

  • Confirm that strategic negotiations on commercial terms are occurring in coordination with Legal.

  • Develop and support strategic Price-to-Win approaches, ensuring alignment between scope, budget, and pricing strategy.

  • Support rate and pricing development consistent with market conditions and project requirements and ensure required reviews/approvals are completed in accordance with WSP USA governance.

  • Establish processes for monthly project performance reviews that will be conducted by the Regional Project Delivery Leaders and Project Directors , conducting a monthly operational project review to identify projects for the risk and opportunity log and communicating the mitigation strategy to business leaders.

  • Develop, Communicate and Train PMs on WSP processes and procedures for project delivery including

  • Project Readiness Reviews to confirm projects are appropriately planned before execution.

  • Risk contingency plans and refinement of the risk register and risk management plan .

  • Quality and Safety Plans in coordination with our Safety and Quality business partners.

  • Subcontractor onboarding and contracting in collaboration with our Procurement team

  • Project setup in coordination with the Operations and Finance teams.

  • Project monitoring and status updates

  • Project close-out including lessons learned, claims/disputes resolution, final margin review, client feedback, archiving, final invoicing, and financial closeout.

  • Advance A&P’s Strategic Pricing Goal from the 2025-2027 Strategic Plan.

  • General Operations Duties:

  • Work under the direction of the Business Operations Director for the specifically identified part of the A&P business.

  • Partner with Business Line Leadership on project delivery aspects of the business.

  • Provide Project Delivery support for project performance consistency and reporting.

  • Support and promote a consistent approach to project delivery, operational reporting, quality, and other key initiatives.

  • Deliver training and mentoring support for project managers and staff.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience

  • BA/BS Degree in Engineering, Planning, Architecture, Business, or equivalent discipline.

  • Experience as a project manager, or related role to understand project delivery issues and requirements.

  • Understanding of project financials, team dynamics, client relationships, staffing and resource requirements, and performance expectations.

  • Proactive problem-solving skills and helpful, open and candid communication skills.

  • Leadership skills that portray commitment, reliability, and accountability to desire outcomes.

  • Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $175,400 - $352,990

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $175,400 - $331,320
