Description
We're seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to be a pivotal force in shaping the future of cloud security at Amazon Web Services. In this role, you'll collaborate with security teams, translating complex legal challenges into innovative solutions that protect and empower our global customers.
Key job responsibilities
Provide comprehensive legal counsel on cloud security, transactional, regulatory, and compliance matters — drawing on a comprehensive understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks to navigate complex and evolving requirements
Advise security teams during strategic customer engagements, media interactions, and interactions with security researchers
Serve as a subject matter expert on security commitments in cloud enterprise agreements
Lead negotiations for technology, intellectual property and data licensing across inbound and outbound initiatives, leveraging deep expertise in commercial agreements and intellectual property transactions
Support the global security response team with nuanced legal perspectives, demonstrating exceptional problem-solving capabilities in ambiguous scenarios
Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines
Uphold a deep commitment to ethical standards and professional integrity across all legal and business engagements

Basic Qualifications
Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
2+ years of legal experience
Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
Demonstrated commitment to high ethical standards and professional integrity
Strong written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to make important decisions on emerging issues, often with limited information
Experience anticipating developing issues, thinking ahead, and influencing internal and external stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
Experience in information security and compliance
Experience with regulatory compliance and commercial transactions

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
