Job Title: Machine Operator Trainee

Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to train as a machine operator within a copper manufacturing facility. You will work alongside experienced operators to learn all aspects of the production process, develop strong safety habits, and build the skills needed to operate equipment effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Train in the production area of a copper manufacturing facility under the guidance of experienced machine operators.

  • Learn and follow standard operating procedures for machinery and production processes.

  • Support general production activities, including material handling and basic machine support tasks.

  • Maintain a strong focus on safety while working around heavy machinery and moving equipment.

  • Stand and remain active on the production floor for 10–12 hours per shift as needed.

  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of unnecessary clutter to support safe operations.

  • Follow all facility rules and guidelines related to equipment use, personal safety, and housekeeping.

  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to ensure production goals and quality standards are met.

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or labor-intensive warehouse work.

  • Ability to stand on your feet and perform physical tasks for 10–12 hours per shift.

  • Strong safety mindset and comfort working in a manufacturing environment around machinery.

  • Reliability and willingness to work assigned shifts, including evenings or nights as needed.

  • Ability to follow instructions and learn new processes and equipment quickly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Any experience in safety within a manufacturing facility is a plus.

  • Experience working in an industrial, production, or large warehouse setting is beneficial.

  • Comfort working in a non-climate controlled environment.

Work Environment

You will work in a non-climate controlled, expansive copper manufacturing facility with approximately 250 colleagues. The environment is highly industrial, with active machinery and ongoing construction in some areas that may contribute to dust and clutter, while individual workstations remain clean and organized. Shifts are typically structured as 1st shift from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 2nd shift from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. with a shift differential, and 3rd shift from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. with an additional shift differential. You will spend most of your time on your feet on the production floor, working around equipment and materials in a busy, fast-paced setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sealy, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
