Production Worker

Job Description

This role supports a plastic manufacturing facility by assisting with daily production activities, including loading and unloading parts, preparing materials for cutting and coating, and helping ensure products meet quality standards and production goals. You will work on a set Monday–Thursday schedule on either first or third shift in a collaborative, manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload parts and products onto pallets in a safe and organized manner.

  • Prepare parts and products for cutting to the appropriate measurements using provided tools and equipment.

  • Prepare parts and products to be shipped for powder coating, following established procedures and quality standards.

  • Follow and support quality standards and processes throughout the facility to ensure consistent product quality.

  • Help ensure production deadlines and goals are met by working efficiently and communicating effectively with the team.

  • Report any issues or problems with production, equipment, or materials promptly to the immediate supervisor.

  • Perform general production and machine operating tasks as needed to support manufacturing operations.

  • Use basic measuring tools, such as tape measures, to verify dimensions and specifications.

  • Assist with basic troubleshooting of production or machine issues within the scope of training and guidance.

Essential Skills

  • Previous manufacturing experience, including experience in a production or general labor environment.

  • Experience with machine operation or machine operating in a manufacturing setting.

  • Ability to use a tape measure accurately to verify measurements.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude to support general production and mechanical tasks.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established processes and quality standards.

  • Capability to work scheduled 12-hour shifts Monday through Thursday on either first shift (5:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.) or third shift (5:30 p.m. – 5:30 a.m.).

  • Reliability and consistency in attendance to support production goals and deadlines.

Work Environment

This position is based in a plastic manufacturing facility that is not temperature controlled, so working conditions will vary with the seasons. The company operates multiple buildings within a short distance of each other, each supporting different business units, and you may interact with teams across these facilities. Work is performed on 12-hour shifts Monday through Thursday, with available first shift (5:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.) and third shift (5:30 p.m. – 5:30 a.m.) schedules. The production environment involves standard manufacturing equipment, pallet handling, and preparation of parts for cutting and powder coating. The work is not particularly fast paced and does not involve heavy lifting, supporting a steady, safety-conscious approach to daily tasks. Appropriate industrial work attire suitable for a manufacturing setting is expected.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Scranton, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
