Key Responsibilities & Duties include
Regulatory Compliance:
- Evaluating regulations from OSHA, EPA and State DEC regulations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations.
Monitors changes in legislation and updates policies accordingly. Program & Development:
Estimating Emissions; develops methods of estimating emissions for permit compliance.
- Writes, develops & implements programs and instructions related to OSHA, EPA and State DEC regulations.
- Supervising the EHS training programs.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Monitoring Emissions; manage the program to document the monthly emissions as per Sabins air permit application
- Environmental Reporting; responsible for reporting Toxic Release Inventory (TRI), Tier II, Municipal Chemical Inventory Reports (209-u), Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Chemical Data Reporting (CDR), Annual Odor Report.
- Overseeing exposure assessments for a variety of metals, and any other chemicals, noise and any other physical stressor that is evident in the work place. Maintain the records for those measurements.
Maintains records of safety inspections, incidents, and compliance audits. Hazardous Waste Management:
Administer the plantwide training needed to be done for large generators.
- Evaluate and classify wastes as per the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) regulations.
- Identify appropriate disposal vendors and set up account with them.
- Manage the eManifest program.
Education and / or Experience Required
The candidate should have a bachelors degree in chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, engineering or related fields. The ideal candidate will have five or more years of experience related to Environmental Health and Safety. Other Qualifications
