Summary:

We are looking for a highly experienced and detailed-oriented Principal Test Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in overseeing testing resources to ensure consistent and reliable results for both PDK development and customer testing services by standardizing test methodology and procedure. You will take ownership of managing photonics testing instruments, developing comprehensive test plans and procedures, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. Collaborating closely with design engineers, you will help identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues throughout the development lifecycle.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the testing team by effectively allocating resources, setting priorities, assigning roles and responsibilities.

  • Define testing strategy and develop test plans based on project requirements and timelines.

  • Ensure testing resources are budgeted, and testing tools are maintained in optical conditions.

  • Driving for new test capability setup, prepare documentation to standardize the new test procedure.

  • Collaborate with project team to ensure device meets specification and verify device's performance.

  • Support the adaptation of equipment from hands-on process measurement to high-volume automatic manufacturing test platforms.

  • Support the test tool efficiency improvement project through testing automation.

  • Mentor and train team members to enhance skill development and support professional growth.

  • To perform other duties as assigned. Duties will vary according to the project progress and/or the specific goals of the company.

Requirements:

  • Possess a Ph.D/master in photonics, electrical engineering, physics, or any other related field.

  • Practical knowledge and understanding of optical science and/or photonics technology.

  • Practical knowledge in electrical and optical measurement of optical chip devices and systems.

  • Passionate and creative, exceptional oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to think and strategize to complete experimental projects.

  • Accountable and takes ownership, ability to multi-task and prioritize.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
