Walker River Paiute Tribe Empowering Community Alliance (ECA) Lead in Schurz, Nevada
DEFINITION:
The Empowering Community Alliance (Alliance) strives to activate our community through education, culture, unity, and positivity to promote healthy lifestyles. The Lead Coordinator will help manage both the internal and external functions of the Alliance. They will assist in community assessments and the development of educational outreach strategies to the general community, focusing on populations at increased risk, with an emphasis on positive youth development. The Lead Coordinator will support the Alliance in executing its strategic plan by formulating and implementing a detailed work plan and timeline. The Lead Coordinator will focus on developing community relations, implementing events and projects, coordinating evaluations, and disseminating information. The Lead Coordinator will help facilitate culturally appropriate strategies for community members of the Walker River Paiute Tribe.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Attend all Alliance meetings and community events

Provide community assessments and assist with prevention plans
-
Attend training on fiscal management, prevention frameworks, and youth and community
development
-
Build tribal and statewide partnerships with a focus on opioid/substance abuse prevention
-
Assist the Alliance with agendas, sign-in sheets, and pay stipends
-
Maintain a roster for the Alliance officers
-
Organize community activities, education, and prevention events
-
Advertise, send reminders and consistently invite Alliance and community members to monthly meetings and events
-
Objectively facilitate positive and effective communication among community members
-
Help develop and maintain a brochure, including a mission statement and logo
-
Continually update and follow the Alliance's strategic plan, timeline, and budget
-
Hold public meetings with the community and tribal members to move forward with a prevention framework process, collect information, and track data
-
Hold tribal department meetings to move forward with a prevention framework process, collect information, and track data
-
Help to network and encourage community collaboration between schools, businesses, existing groups, organizations, and youth to include programs, projects, and activities that support a healthy community and meet a community need

Research and pursue grants and additional funding sources
-
Complete and submit reports to Alliance, the Tribal Council, and other entities/agencies
-
Complete and submit reports when required by the Tribal Opioid abatement strategies, including other grant timelines and objectives
-
Other job-related duties as assigned by the Supervisor
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Must have (1) one year of experience in a closely related field
-
Must be able to work independently while maintaining accurate records of progress of duties related to the position, and able to report in a timely manner
-
Must have exceptional communication, analytical, and research skills; ability to organize and express ideas clearly
-
Ability to conduct business within a tribal setting, including experience in writing letters,
-
proposals, letters of inquiry, public speaking, public meeting facilitation, research, presentations of reports to Tribal Council, etc.

Must have demonstrated proficiency in use of computers-word processing, spreadsheets, database management, internet, electron mail to develop reports, plans and create financial projections

Ability to travel and participate in a number of evening and/or weekend meetings/workshops
-
Must have a valid Nevada driver's license and reliable transportation
-
Must submit to pre-employment and random drug tests as required by WRPT Personnel and Drug-Free Workplace policies, with satisfactory results
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
:
-
Experience in preparing budgets, manag ng within authorized budgets, assessing needs, and identifying available resources vital to program implementation. Ability to develop and implement monthly and annual plans

Experience in grant management/grant writing including state/federal/private sectors
-
Must have the ability to maintain effective, discreet and courteous working relationship when conveying information and/or working with public officials and agencies, residents, members of the general public, and co-workers
