DEFINITION
:
This position serves as the liaison between the Housing department and the homeownership, low rental, elder/disabled utilities, and other housing assistance programs as assigned. This position will perform numerous duties in collecting documentation and information to process applications, service tenant accounts, assist with ensuring compliance of policies that govern WRHD, and providing tenant outreach. This position requires collaboration and communication with co-workers, community, and residents, while implementing policy in an inclusive and supportive work environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Applicant Processing
Receive and review applications for program eligibility
Interview applicants for housing assistance, clarifying program responsibilities and opportunities and assisting applicants in completing housing applications; review tenant application files for completeness and accuracy.
Determine eligibility based upon appropriate guidelines and policies; notify applicants regarding eligibility.
Provide information to the Housing Director and assist in participant selection process.
Assist in monitor occupancy procedures to assure compliance

Applicant/Resident Education
Provide information to interested applicants regarding eligibility and programs offered through the housing department
Coordinate and conduct meetings/trainings for selected homebuyers and rental tenants, such as financial management, Pre-occupancy, Policy review to ensure tenant understanding, and other as deemed necessary; create brochures and informational handouts to aid in understanding the program objectives
Provide community outreach, such as calendars, newsletters, etc.
3.
Tenant Counseling Services
Responsible for providing counseling to tenants and homebuyers to ensure applicants are aware of agreements, policies, and guidelines that oversee the housing program and counseling services to ensure compliance and program education.
Responsible for obtaining recertification information
Work with the Executive Director to evaluate, update, or revise policies as needed.
Review policies for effectiveness and monitor adherence to admissions and occupancy
