Description
Robert Half is partnering with a well‑established construction company in Schertz, Texas, to identify an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper. This is a hands‑on accounting role supporting day‑to‑day operations and leadership, ideal for someone who enjoys ownership of the full accounting cycle in a stable, close‑knit environment.
Key Responsibilities
Process bi‑weekly payroll for approximately 40–50 employees, including Certified Payroll for public projects
Prepare documentation and assist with year‑end insurance audits
Manage accounts receivable, including customer invoicing and collections
Oversee accounts payable, vendor payments, and reconciliations
File state and payroll tax reports and ensure regulatory compliance
Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards; assist with borrowing base documentation
Maintain accurate financial records and support month‑end, quarterly, and annual close
Prepare financial reports and documentation for ownership and leadership
Requirements
Qualifications
5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in construction, subcontracting, or manufacturing
Strong payroll experience with knowledge of payroll tax compliance
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to manage priorities independently and meet deadlines consistently
High level of integrity, discretion, and reliability
Comfortable working in a family‑owned, close‑knit business environment
Notary certification is a plus but not required
