The Center for Disability Services, a trusted leader in supporting individuals with disabilities for over 80 years, is looking for passionate Special Education Teachers to join our Summer School Programs this year!

Position Overview: As a Special Education Teacher for our Summer School Programs, you’ll lead and guide a classroom of eager students, working alongside a dedicated team of professionals. You’ll collaborate with parents, school districts, and other agencies to ensure students receive the highest level of support to meet their unique needs.

Program Dates:

  • Summer Program: July 8th – August 21st

  • Orientation Dates: July 7th & 8th

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, from 8 AM to 3 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Classroom: Take charge of your classroom and provide direction to a team of professionals and paraprofessionals.

  • Supervise & Support: Oversee the work of classroom education staff, ensuring students receive the best possible support.

  • Collaboration is Key: Work closely with parents, school districts, and other agencies to ensure student needs are met with care and excellence.

  • Inspire and Motivate: Foster an environment of creativity, energy, and growth for both students and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • NYS Certification in Special Education (Initial Certification required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and currently pursuing a Master’s in Special Education

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • New York State Permanent Certification in Special Education

  • Master’s Degree in Special Education

  • 2+ years of experience with students with multiple disabilities

  • Creative, energetic, and passionate about making a difference

Compensation Range:

$60,172.42 - $72,645.14
