Job Description Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our operations team. This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating material and production needs to ensure alignment with production schedules and business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials planning, inventory control, and supply chain processes, along with the analytical skills to drive process improvements and operational efficiency.
This role operates in a dynamic, cross-functional environment that requires adaptability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing materials and schedules. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the efficiency and responsiveness of our manufacturing operations.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Support a specific "cell" or process within the factory, managing a set group of goods and vendors with repetitive purchase orders.
Develop and maintain master production schedules and material requirements plans to support manufacturing goals.
Coordinate material flow across departments and with external suppliers to meet production deadlines.
Manage purchasing needs in accordance with production forecasts and inventory targets.
Optimize inventory levels and material availability through data-driven analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve material or scheduling issues.
Monitor KPIs and production metrics to ensure alignment with operational goals.
Lead or support small-scale projects and initiatives focused on process improvement or cost reduction.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college and a minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain, materials planning, or procurement. OR High school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of relevant experience in sourcing, materials management, or planning.
Demonstrated understanding of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP), inventory control principles, and production workflows.
Desired Characteristics
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis; experience with supply chain analytics or visualization tools is a plus.
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think critically and propose creative solutions.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Project management experience or exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $91,700.00 and $152,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
