Job Descriptions:
**Current need is for approximately 20 hours/week per position. Hours are subject to increase, based on business needs.
The Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs (Justice Center) is seeking candidates who are task oriented with great attention to detail. The positions call for staff to be able to work independently with time-sensitive tasks.
The Justice Center is seeking individuals with a working knowledge of computer programs/systems including: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint), Adobe Pro, and Email (Outlook). The positions also require the ability to quickly learn and utilize the Justice Center database program.
Job duties require: processing electronic and hard copy reports of death and records received, and attaching such reports/records to case files; creating provider contacts in case files; searching the NYS Department of Health (DOH) death certificate data base and uploading copies of death certificates to mortality review cases; creating and mailing correspondence related to unit record requests; creating and mailing closure letters; closing cases in the Justice Center's Vulnerable Persons Central Register (VPCR); other administrative duties as assigned. Some duties may require the proper handling of confidential information and the import/export of information from Justice Center and other agency databases. Other projects and duties may also be assigned, depending on emergent agency business needs.
Knowledge of office administration and management; proper grammar, punctuation and spelling; business communications and ability to take notes is necessary. Ability to maintain confidentiality of documents, conversations, proceedings, process, etc. is required.
The winning bidder is required, at the sole discretion of the NYS Justice Center, to continue employment of temporary employee(s) currently working at the Justice Center at or above his/her current take home hourly pay rate.
The position(s) are expected to be in-person at our Schenectady office. Free parking is provided.
The Justice Center reserves the right to terminate the employment of candidate(s) immediately, in the event that the Justice Center, in its sole discretion, is not satisfied with the work performed.
This is a best value procurement, as a result, the winning bid will be selected after a review of resumes are completed. The winning bid will be based on the extent to which candidates meet the skills described above and price. Preference may be given to candidates with experience working with the NYS Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs for Temporary staffing services. Preference may also be given to MWBE certified vendors.
