Job Title: Sign/Automotive/Industrial Spray Painter Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Sign/Automotive/Industrial Spray Painter to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have experience in painting signs, automotive parts, industrial equipment, and commercial components. You will be responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing paints, and applying coatings to various materials to achieve a high-quality finish. Your role is crucial in ensuring that our products meet industry standards and exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming for paint application.
Mix and match paints to achieve desired colors and finishes.
Apply coatings using spray guns and other painting equipment on signs, vehicles, parts, and machinery.
Inspect finished work for quality, consistency, and adherence to specifications.
Maintain painting tools, spray booths, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of chemicals and PPE usage.
Collaborate with production teams to meet deadlines and quality standards.
Perform touch-ups and repairs as needed.
Essential Skills
2+ years of experience in spray painting for signs, automotive, or industrial applications.
Knowledge of paint types, mixing techniques, and surface preparation.
Ability to operate spray guns and related equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a ventilated spray booth environment.
Strong attention to detail, color matching skills, and commitment to quality.

Work Environment
Work in a smaller shop with a total of 14 employees. The process flow includes design, print, fabrication (welding/bending/routing), paint, electrical, and install. The position operates on a 1st shift from 6am-2:30pm with potential for overtime due to business needs. Employees will be cross-trained in other areas.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Schaumburg, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
