$375 Hiring Bonus
Recruitment bonus is paid in two installments at 90 days and 180 days of service for employees in good standing. Bonus is subject to applicable taxes.
Position Overview
The Sales Clerk provides outstanding customer service, assists patrons with merchandise selection, performs cashier duties, maintains product displays, and supports daily retail operations at the Sault Ste. Marie Exchange.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist customers; maintain strong product knowledge.
- Provide excellent customer service, including demonstrating or explaining product features.
- Replenish merchandise; maintain clean, organized, and presentable displays.
- Conduct periodic stock counts and participate in inventory.
- Process payments including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, and gift cards; make accurate change.
- Balance cash drawer at end of shift and submit all sales records.
- Perform price changes, markdowns/markups, and set up promotional signage.
- Follow Loss Prevention policies; remain aware of shrink and Alert Line protocols.
- Follow all safety standards and emergency preparedness procedures.
- Weekend work is required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to stock merchandise, assist patrons, and operate a cash register.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and explain product information.
- Basic math skills: count, subtract, multiply, divide.
- Ability to routinely lift 10 lbs and occasionally lift 25 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- High school coursework, GED, or high school diploma.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous retail merchandising or cashier experience.
