Compass North EUP Case Worker
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will provide community, school, home, and street-based outreach services to youth who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness or runaway situations.
The Case Worker will work collaboratively with agencies, youth, families, and host homes to ensure all enrollment and compliance documentation is completed timely.
This is a hybrid position requiring initial training, case management training and job shadowing at the designated regional offices located in Newberry and Alpena, Michigan. Upon successful completion of training and supervisor approval, the employee will transition to a home-based work model while continuing required fieldwork throughout Chippewa County and surrounding Eastern Upper Peninsula counties.
Residence in or near Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan is preferred.
Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following:
· Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field (Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Counseling, or related field); OR
· Associate's Degree in a Human Services field plus a minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in youth services, child welfare, homelessness services, behavioral health, or related field; OR
· High School Diploma/GED plus a minimum of five (5) years of full-time professional experience in the human services field.
Additional Requirements:
· CPR/First Aid Certification required within 3 months of hire and maintained every 2 years
· Clean criminal and Central Registry histories
· Valid driver's license and good driving record
· Reliable transportation and ability to travel extensively within assigned counties
· Ability to maintain a secure, private, and confidential home workspace with reliable internet
· Experience working with children/adolescents and families preferred

Develop positive working relationships with community partners and external agencies that serve the homeless population to promote the best possible service to youth
Provide crisis intervention, information and referrals service
