Description
Robert Half is partnering with a manufacturing client in the recruiting for an Customer Service Representative to join their team due to growth focused on the order fulfillment process. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end order workflow, from entering and processing sales orders to ensuring inventory availability, coordinating purchases when inventory is low, preparing quotes, and tracking shipments to guarantee timely delivery. This position bridges the gap between sales, operations, and customers to deliver excellent service and accurate order execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Enter and process sales orders promptly, ensuring accuracy and alignment with current inventory levels.
Monitor inventory availability; coordinate with purchasing to reorder products as needed.
Provide quotes to customers, answer product or order-related inquiries, and deliver timely follow-up.
Track orders from entry through shipment and delivery, proactively informing customers of status updates or delays.
Liaise with warehouse, shipping, and purchasing teams to resolve issues and ensure on-time fulfillment.
Maintain comprehensive customer order files and document all communications for each transaction.
Work with the sales department to clarify customer requirements and confirm contract terms.
Investigate and resolve customer concerns related to orders, shipments, or inventory with professionalism.
Support process improvements to streamline order entry, inventory tracking, and customer communications.
Requirements
• Associate level degree or higher with a major in business administration, supply chain management highly preferred
• Proven experience in customer service, order entry, fulfillment or sales support roles.
• Strong skills in preparing and providing sales quotes and estimates.
• Experience using software systems for inventory management and purchasing activities.
• Knowledge of distribution systems and processes, including supplier communication and logistics coordination.
• Ability to analyze and report manufacturing efficiency, sales performance, and freight activities.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to handle customer inquiries and supplier relationships.
