ROLE OVERVIEW: Our season kicks off in April and runs through November, with the possibility of extending into December. As a seasonal team member, you'll enjoy winters off to travel, hunt, fish, or pursue the activities you love-while still keeping your benefits all year long. As a Dump Person, you are responsible to direct trucks dumping blacktop for paver, operate equipment, and perform various laborer tasks with the paving crew as needed. Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with one Saturday per month. COMPENSATION: $24.00 per hour DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job) Direct trucks when dumping blacktop or aggregate, engage mechanism to dump truck when appropriate Perform daily walk-around inspection Lay string line on paving jobs Apply temporary lane marking tape Operate jack hammer on a daily basis Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance Performs other duties as assigned MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements) General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record.
