The Transportation Manager ensures that the logistics operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely, contributing significantly to the overall success of the organization. This position is a temporary role for a period of 12 months.
How you will make contributions that matter:
Using positive coaching and communication skills, manage the performance of the Transportation Team and all key stakeholders
Work with cross functional partners to optimize transportation initiatives with the goal of improving operational efficiency, cost reduction and improving service levels
With a continuous improvement mindset, develop, lead, and execute best practice initiatives and projects directed at optimizing the Supply Chain network
Establish annual business plans and annual budgets, while focusing on efficiency and reducing operating costs in our transportation network
Take part in contract and rate negotiations, as well as onboarding new partners
Act as a link between carriers and the various internal departments
Ensure that transport operations are carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures
Ensure Health & Safety, Food Safety is a key focus, while promoting Saputo’s Culture and values
Demonstrates integrity in all business activities with employees, suppliers and freight carriers
Core work hours Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm, with flexibility required based on business needs
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in transportation, logistics, business or a related field
Additional certifications in logistics or transportation management can be beneficial
Minimum 8 -10 years’ experience as a Transport/Distribution Leader in a high-volume environment, preferably in a Food/Packaged Goods Company
Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to gather and analyze data and work with financials
Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards
Strong Interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders
Able to efficiently manage several priorities within established timelines
Able to adapt to change in business needs
High level of motivation, initiative, organizational skills, detail orientated, and integrity is essential
Good knowledge of MS Office, AS400 (Maestro), BI environment and/or SAP-TMS

Salary: $90,530 - $118,820
*Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education skills and training.
