Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Senior Control Systems Project Lead to support a mining and energy client on a 12-month contract with a high likelihood of extension. This role is based in Saskatoon, SK with hybrid flexibility. The Senior Control Systems Project Lead will be responsible for leading the design, architecture, and implementation of industrial control systems across active and brownfield operating facilities. This individual will act as the technical design authority, supporting projects from early concept through commissioning, while coordinating across engineering teams, system integrators, vendors, and operations.
This role focuses heavily on control system architecture, front-end engineering design (FEL), system standards, and technical oversight rather than hands-on programming.

Skills and Requirements
•12+ years of experience in industrial control systems engineering within mining, energy, or heavy industrial environments
•Hands-on experience leading control system projects built on ABB 800xA DCS platforms, including system architecture and design
•Strong experience owning end-to-end control system lifecycle activities including concept development, FEL, detailed engineering, procurement, FAT, SAT, and commissioning
•Strong understanding of control system integration including PLCs, DCS, SCADA, HMIs, and alarm management
•Experience working in brownfield and live operating environments with evolving scope and incomplete information
•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related discipline
•Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility preferred
