The Opportunity
We are actively seeking a Field Service Technician to join our growing team at AGI Saskatoon, a division of AGI. This position is responsible for repairing and servicing a wide variety of portable and permanent agriculture machinery. The main areas of focus include meeting service requirements, station set up, health & safety and quality control.
The Team
This position will work closely with the entire AGI Saskatoon Team. The Field Service Technician will report directly to the Branch Manager.
Responsibilities
The Field Service Technician is responsible for the following but limited to:
Repair and service a wide variety of portable agriculture machinery such as augers, conveyors, post pounders, grain vacuums, and seed treaters
Safe operation, maintenance, and inventory management of a service vehicle
In the field repairs on permanent commercial and non-commercial grain and fertilizer handling job sites
Work order creation and repair documentation
Parts knowledge, interpretation of parts catalogues and parts ordering for repairs
Assist in product assembly processes when required
Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve repair or assembly problems.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment, to like new appearance, according to maintenance plans and established procedures
Maintain a positive work atmosphere
Continue to grow lean knowledge
Ensure that safe work practices are followed and adhered to
Qualifications
Two or more years of agriculture or heavy-duty repair experience
Mechanically inclined a must
Knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Able to work independently, with minimal supervision, while part of a team.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Willingness to learn and take instruction.
Capable of troubleshooting and problem solving.
Physically able to lift to 50lbs.
Proficiency in hydraulic system and small gas engine diagnostics and repairs
Experience repairing augers, conveyors, post pounders, grain vacuums, and seed treaters
Clean driving abstract
Exceptional customer service skills
Experience working on commercial sites
Willingness to work unconventional hours when required
Experience working safely near moving machinery or hazardous areas
