Duties Description Under the direction of the Park Operations Manager 1, the selected candidate will be responsible for the following job duties which include but are not limited to:• Operation of the region’s equipment inventory, usage tracking and surplus programs. • Perform data entry, run reports, issue asset tags, perform spot checks and communicate opportunities and deficiencies. • Work closely with both the Park Operations Manager 1 and the Agency’s Equipment and Fleet Management Unit to ensure new equipment is properly received, inventoried and registered as appropriate using Asset Cloud and/or Asset Works. • Coordinate with the Region’s Gideon Auto Garage to ensure asset identification tags, decals, EZ Passes and Telematics are installed. • Ensure mileage clipboards with WEX cards are created for new vehicles. • Schedule and coordinate the public viewing of surplus equipment and document the sale and pick up of purchased items from auction. • Coordinate the region’s annual vehicle rust prevention program. • Track and update region’s IT equipment inventory. • Guide and train the region’s facility equipment coordinators on the inventorying and surplusage of equipment. • Record and track region’s equipment loan program. • Record and track vehicle safety recalls. • Directly supervise an Assistant Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications One year of experience in the operation and/or maintenance of a park, historic site, golf course, or recreational facility;OR - One year of experience in any of the following fields:• Law enforcement or security• Firefighting• Emergency Medical Services• Environmental education or stewardship• Natural resources management (e.g., forest management, wildlife management/preservation)• Historic preservation or interpretation• Landscaping or grounds maintenanceOR - One year of military service in any branch of the United States Armed Forces;OR - Thirty (30) semester credit hours of college-level coursework from an accredited college or university;OR - Completion of a two-year technical/trades school program;OR - Two years of experience as a trade assistant working under the direct supervision of a skilled tradesperson.

Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.• Must have good written and verbal communication, and organizational skills. • Must be proficient in or have the ability to learn Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. • Must be proficient in or have the ability to learn the asset management programs including Asset Works and Asset Cloud.• Must be able to communicate verbally, as well as in writing and read and comprehend written material.• Must participate, complete, and practice all required NYS trainings annually.• Must be able to work outdoors year-round.
