Cognizant Senior Global Lead – Trade Compliance in Sao Paulo, SP - Rua Jaceru, Brazil
About the role
As a Senior Global Lead – Legal, Trade Compliance & Logistics Governance , you will architect and oversee the global compliance framework governing the cross‑border movement of high‑value, proprietary technology. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for ensuring that the end‑to‑end product lifecycle—from development to worldwide deployment—is protected from legal, financial, and operational risk.
You will lead multi‑regional teams across NORAM, LATAM, APAC, and EMEA , working closely with executive stakeholders to embed Compliance by Design into global operations.
In this role, you will:
Act as the global SME on trade compliance, customs valuation, classifications, and international trade regulations.
Advise executive stakeholders on international trade law, FCPA/anti‑bribery requirements, and regional tax implications.
Design and govern global logistics and compliance processes aligned with business and regional needs.
Oversee the movement of high‑value, proprietary hardware, ensuring regulatory compliance without impacting speed‑to‑market.
Lead cross‑functional collaboration with Legal, Finance, Tax, and Engineering teams.
Drive global audit programs, risk mitigation strategies, and continuous compliance improvement.
Lead and develop a multi‑regional compliance and logistics team.
Manage 3PL providers, customs brokers, SLAs, and global trade budgets.
Work model
This is a 100% on‑site position , based at Cognizant’s offices in São Paulo – Rochavera Corporate Towers (São Paulo, SP, Brazil) .
The role requires full in‑office presence and close collaboration with local and global stakeholders.

What you need to have to be considered
7+ years of senior leadership experience in Global Trade Compliance , ideally in high‑value or proprietary technology environments.
Proven experience managing compliance operations across NORAM, LATAM, APAC, and EMEA .
Deep expertise in FCPA, anti‑bribery regulations, export/import controls (EAR/ITAR), and FTAs .
University degree in Law, International Trade, Engineering, or Economics (Master’s preferred).
Hands‑on experience with SAP Logistics and Compliance modules .
Strong ability to operate in regulatory gray areas and emerging markets.
Executive‑level communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience leveraging automation or AI‑driven compliance tools.
