Senior Android Malware Analyst
About the role
As a Senior Android Malware Analyst , you will make an impact by protecting mobile ecosystems through advanced Android malware analysis and reverse engineering. You will be a valued member of our Cybersecurity and Threat Intelligence team, working alongside highly skilled security professionals to investigate sophisticated mobile threats, enhance detection capabilities, and strengthen mobile defense strategies at scale.
This role provides hands-on exposure to emerging malware techniques, advanced tooling, and the opportunity to contribute technical leadership, research, and mentorship within a specialized and fast-evolving cybersecurity environment.
In this role, you will:
Perform advanced reverse engineering of Android applications using static and dynamic analysis techniques
Analyze malicious behaviors at scale and produce clear, high-quality technical investigations and root cause analyses
Research emerging Android attack vectors and contribute to the development of detection mechanisms and rules
Create detailed technical write-ups for new malware families, behaviors, and exploitation techniques
Develop and maintain tools and automations to streamline malware analysis and investigation workflows
Define, implement, and continuously improve analysis processes, policies, and procedures
Support security incident investigations, including escalations and reports from external researchers
Act as a senior technical contributor, supporting complex investigations and troubleshooting critical issues
Participate in red teaming or adversarial testing activities when applicable
Mentor junior analysts and support ongoing development of team capabilities
Work model
This is a hybrid position requiring time in a Cognizant office in São Paulo, Brazil . This opportunity is open only to candidates currently based in Brazil .
What you need to have to be considered
8+ years of experience in Android Security, Reverse Engineering and Malware Analysis
Strong expertise in Android application security , including static and dynamic analysis
Extensive experience in Android malware analysis and reverse engineering
Hands-on proficiency with tools such as Ghidra, IDA Pro, Frida, and kernel/system debugging techniques
Strong programming and scripting skills using Java, Python, C/C++, JavaScript, or Kotlin
Solid experience with de-obfuscation techniques , including string decryption, unpacking, and de-virtualization
Knowledge of ARM and x86 architectures and low-level assembly concepts
Ability to produce structured, high-quality technical documentation and malware analysis reports
Strong communication and collaboration skills within technical teams
These will help you stand out
Experience creating custom automation tools , scripts, or reverse engineering plugins
Exposure to red teaming, threat modeling, or adversarial security exercises
Knowledge of incident response, OS hardening, vulnerability management, or cryptographic concepts
Industry-recognized cybersecurity certifications such as OSCP, OSWE, OSCE, or equivalent
Strong curiosity and passion for researching emerging Android threats and malware trends
