Job Summary
The Regional Commercial Manager oversees the full regional sales management system for the Water Infrastructure segment, with a strong focus on utilities, municipal customers, and public-sector infrastructure related to wastewater and stormwater pumping.
The role involves defining and executing sales strategies aligned with market dynamics, leading and coaching a regional sales team, and driving sustainable and profitable growth. It requires strong leadership capabilities, a deep understanding of industrial B2B solution sales, pumping technologies, and channel management, as well as the ability to operate effectively in a matrix, multinational environment.
Regular interaction with utilities, municipalities, consulting engineers, end users, distributors, and internal stakeholders is essential.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
10+ years of experience in industrial B2B sales, preferably within utilities, municipal, wastewater, or stormwater markets.
Mandatory: at least 5 years of experience in the Water Utilities market with strong knowledge of wastewater and stormwater pumping systems.
Proven regional sales leadership experience managing distributed teams and sales channels.
Strong understanding of pumping technologies, engineered solutions, and services.
Solid financial and business acumen, including experience managing sales KPIs, revenue, margins, and forecasts.
Proficiency with CRM tools such as Salesforce.
Fluency in both English and Spanish is mandatory.; Portuguese is a strong advantage.
MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Business Growth
Lead regional growth in orders, revenue, and gross margin for wastewater and stormwater pumping solutions, products, and services.
Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with market conditions, utilities demand, and public-sector projects.
Carry out market analysis to identify growth opportunities within utilities and municipal infrastructure markets, translating insights into actionable commercial plans.
Drive growth across new equipment, engineered solutions, and aftermarket/service offerings.
Channel & Customer Management
Manage and develop regional distribution partners and sales representatives serving utilities and municipal customers.
Strengthen relationships with utility operators, municipalities, consulting engineers, and public-sector stakeholders to influence specifications and drive demand.
Collaborate closely with Marketing, Customer Service, and Service teams to enhance the overall customer experience.
Team Leadership & Performance Management
Lead, coach, and develop a regional sales team, including hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
Set clear objectives, KPIs, and accountability standards.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance commercial culture.
Sales Operations, Forecasting & Financial Management
Drive a disciplined sales process and accurate forecasting using Salesforce / CRM tools.
Monitor pipeline, performance, revenue, and margins, ensuring solid understanding and control of financial KPIs.
Prepare and present sales performance reviews, forecasts, and financial insights to senior leadership.
Cross-functional & Matrix Collaboration
Work closely with regional Operations and Customer Service teams to increase order conversion, improve margins, and ensure delivery excellence.
Collaborate with other Xylem brands to enable synergy, solution bundling, and best-practice sharing.
Ensure full compliance with Xylem policies, processes, and industry standards.
People Manager Scope
