Description
Developers and development teams are key influencers who steer organizational adoption of new technologies, services, and platforms. The mission of the Developer Acceleration (DevAx) team within PACE is to help developers gain greater familiarity and confidence building AI/Agentic applications, and to accelerate the path from prototype to production at scale.
As a Principal DevAx Solutions Architect within PACE, you will be at the forefront of emerging technology adoption, with a particular focus on Generative AI, Agentic AI, and AI-native application architectures. You will help customers understand and harness the transformative potential of services like Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Nova, and Frontier Agents, translating these forefront capabilities into practical, production-ready solutions that address real business problems. You will continuously sharpen and apply your expertise in the full AI development lifecycle to upskill developers and development teams on AWS services.
As a trusted advisor with proven technical expertise developing full-stack solutions on AWS, you will share recommendations around system and application architectures, security and cost considerations, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency to accelerate customers' most challenging, mission-critical projects.
Internally, you will be the voice of the customer. You will synthesize observations from customer engagements and market trends around custom-developed and AI-native workloads to inform the roadmap of AWS service teams.

Key job responsibilities
Own the end-to-end path to production for AWS built prototypes, partnering with Prototyping Architects, customer engineering teams, and field stakeholders to ensure prototypes successfully transition from proof-of-concept to production-grade, scalable solutions on AWS driving measurable business outcomes for customers.
Lead large-scale, cross-organizational developer enablement initiatives that drive measurable adoption of Agentic AI, AI/ML, and modern application development on AWS.
Design and build industry-significant reference architectures and developer-focused solutions that become recognized patterns across the community.
Decompose complex developer transformation challenges into scalable, reusable approaches.
Influence C-level and senior engineering leadership on how GenAI can drive organizational change.
Mentor and develop senior Prototyping Architects and DevAx practitioners.
Lead cross-functional hiring, contribute to thought leadership through publications, conference talks, and community engagement.
Surface strategic product feedback to engineering and PM teams.
About the team
The Prototyping and AI Customer Engineering (PACE) team is an elite group of hands-on builders within AWS. Through rapid, time-boxed prototyping engagements, PACE helps customers explore the art of the possible with AWS, turning bold ideas into working solutions that demonstrate real business value. PACE operates at the frontier of emerging technology, with deep expertise in Generative AI, Agentic AI, AI/MAL, and modern agentic application development.
Basic Qualifications
10+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
Experience developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing
Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications
Experience with AI/ML technologies
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation or equivalent
Knowledge of large scale automation and workflow management or equivalent
Knowledge of database design and implementation or equivalent
Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers
Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud
