ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a dynamic and visionary General Manager Neuromodulation LATAM to lead our business across Latin America. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving growth, shaping market strategies, and ensuring operational excellence in a diverse and complex region. You will oversee commercial performance, inspire high-performing teams, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, regulatory bodies, and government agencies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Market Focus – Develop a deep understanding of LATAM market dynamics, customer needs, and regulatory environments. Navigate complex compliance and reimbursement systems across multiple countries. Stay current with industry trends, including digital marketing and multi-channel strategies. Build strong relationships with payors, physicians, hospitals, distributors and government stakeholders.
Financial Management – Manage full LATAM P&L to deliver financial commitments and optimize short-term performance and long-term growth. Conduct regular business reviews to ensure execution against plan. Anticipate and mitigate financial, governmental, and commercial risks.
New Business Development – Define and communicate a clear, forward-thinking growth strategy for LATAM. Identify and prioritize business development opportunities across diverse markets. Engage external partners and distributors to accelerate market penetration and revenue growth.
Commercial Execution – Translate divisional strategies into actionable regional plans with clear KPIs. Inspire and engage teams to adopt and execute the strategy effectively.
Cross-Functional Alignment – Ensure integrated collaboration across functions (finance, regulatory, clinical, HR, legal, IT). Drive innovation and continuous improvement to achieve above-market growth and margin improvement.
Stakeholder Management – Build and maintain relationships with internal leaders and external stakeholders, including KOLs and policy makers. Represent Abbott and the Neuromodulation division in the community and with external entities.
Compliance – Ensure all activities comply with Abbott policies and local regulations. Foster a strong compliance culture across the organization.
Accountability / Supervision
Reports directly to the International Head & GM Neuromodulation OUS. Acts independently within Abbott policies and objectives to achieve regional goals. Responsible for organizational strategy, resource allocation, and operational success in LATAM. Oversees a multi-country team, including direct reports and cross-functional leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Science; advanced degree preferred.
10+ years in medical devices (Class III preferred) with proven success in LATAM markets, especially Brazil and Argentina
Experience managing full P&L at regional level and driving turnaround strategies.
Strong leadership skills with ability to build high-performing teams and lead change.
Proven ability to grow market share in competitive environments.
Excellent negotiation, influencing, and communication skills in English and Portuguese/Spanish.
Operational mindset with ability to execute projects end-to-end.
Willingness to travel extensively across LATAM and internationally (approx. 50%).
