Brown-Forman Accounting Analyst - SCA and C in Sao Paulo, Brazil
This exciting role mainly supports the local accounting team and is responsible for a wide range of accounting records for the SCA&C region (Brazil, Chile, Colombia,Uruguay). This position also works with finance and other cross functional groups within the organization.

This position will support the Brazil USGAAP and local accounting processes, as well as the statutory audit work.
What You Can Expect
Prepare and record accounting journal entries across monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles, covering all aspects of P&L and balance sheet accounts (e.g., expenses, discounts, returns, marketing accruals, allowance for doubtful accounts, inventory reserves), ensuring accuracy and proper documentation in line with requests from regional finance teams.
Calculate and register revenue recognition entries in accordance with local GAAP, US GAAP, and internal policies, maintaining monthly roll forwards and preparing quarterly KPIs in partnership with sales and finance teams.
Control prepaid accounts related to suppliers, guarantees, insurance, and taxes such as property tax (IPTU), ensuring proper monthly accrual and amortization of these expenses.
Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and submit them in the Blackline tool within established deadlines, identifying and resolving inconsistencies, ensuring documentation accuracy, and maintaining compliance with company policies and internal controls.
Assist GBS with bank payment inputs, reconcile bank accounts including posting fees and manual entries, support cash flow reporting, monitor outstanding items, and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
Manage fixed assets accounting, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and amortization, in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
Strengthen internal controls by documenting procedures, monitoring compliance, and supporting adherence to regulatory requirements such as Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX).
Drive efficiency and accuracy by streamlining reporting processes, automating manual tasks, and enhancing controls to minimize errors and deliver timely, reliable financial information.
Provide support during external and internal audits by preparing documentation, reconciliations, and ensuring timely responses aligned with statutory and SOX compliance requirements.
Collaborate and, when required, take the lead on ad hoc projects; perform variance analysis and deliver clear explanations to management; prepare accurate information and reports to ensure statutory compliance.
What You Bring to the Table
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and at least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles.
Fluent in Portuguese and proficient in English (advanced or strong intermediate), with solid experience in international companies, preferably within the consumer products industry.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and local accounting practices (Brazilian IFRS and CPC technical pronouncements).
Excellent financial and analytical skills, with the ability to gather complex data, perform in‑depth analysis, and present concise insights to support decision‑making.
Proactive mindset toward process improvement, capable of recommending and driving positive changes.
Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain collaborative relationships across all organizational levels."
