Robert Half Accountant in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida
Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team on a contract with the potential for a permanent position. This role is based in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, and is ideal for someone experienced in restaurant accounting and high-volume financial transactions. The position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations, manage accounts payable processes, and ensure accuracy in reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and reconcile corporate credit card programs, including American Express (Amex) and P-Card transactions.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, promptly addressing any discrepancies.
• Conduct vendor account reconciliations and resolve billing discrepancies by liaising directly with vendors.
• Maintain well-organized and accurate accounts payable records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Assist in month-end close processes, focusing on accounts payable and reconciliation tasks.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure correct coding and approval of expenses, particularly in the context of restaurant operations.
• Support high-volume invoice processing while adhering to standard accounting practices.
• Utilize accounting software and Excel for data analysis and reporting tasks.
• Promote process improvements to enhance efficiency in financial operations. Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting, preferably within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
Strong expertise in reconciliations, including bank, balance sheet, and vendor accounts.
Proven experience managing corporate credit card programs such as Amex and P-Cards.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and formulas.
Familiarity with multi-location restaurant operations and high-volume invoice processing is a plus.
