MYR Group EPC Site Quality Manager in Santa Fe Springs, California

ABOUT THE ROLE

Responsible for implementing and managing the Project Quality Plan at the job site to ensure all work performed complies with contractual requirements, technical specifications, installation standards, and applicable codes. This role ensures execution aligns with the CSI Quality Management System (QMS) and supports successful project turnover.

Essential Functions

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the site-specific Quality Control Plan in alignment with CSI QMS and project contract requirements.

  • Ensure all construction activities adhere to contractual documents, technical specifications, installation manuals, approved submittals, and industry standards.

  • Coach, mentor, and train QC General Foreman and ensure that the General Foreman are training the QC personnel to the same standards.

  • Prepare for, conduct, document and submit First Install Inspections with the construction team and owner as needed.

  • Schedule and conduct daily site quality inspections and audits to verify compliance and identify deficiencies early.

  • Work collaboratively and proactively with the construction team to ensure installation procedures are followed and the work is done correctly the first time.

  • Identify non-conformances and defects; coordinate corrective actions with Construction Manager and Superintendents to prevent recurrence.

  • Issue, track, and close out Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and maintain related documentation.

  • Lead and document weekly QC meetings with site construction team and owners.

  • Verify that all materials and major equipment delivered to site conform to approved submittals and are properly stored, managed, and installed.

  • Conduct pre-construction quality meetings with subcontractors prior to commencement of new phases of work to review quality expectations and inspection criteria.

  • Compile, manage, and submit project closeout documentation including inspection reports, test results, O&M manuals, warranties, and as-builts.

  • Support and participate in client audits and third-party inspections.

  • Promote a culture of “build it right the first time” through positive proactive engagement with field teams.

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Quality Manager for utility scale solar and BESS projects.

  • Firm understanding of quality standards and codes associated with construction of utility scale solar and BESS projects.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

  • Ability to interpret codes and standards applicable to utility-scale solar and BESS projects.

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.

  • Excellent negotiation and team building skills.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to take ownership, accountability, and drive resolution of quality issues.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Solargrade.

  • May work in varying weather conditions: hot, cold, and wet conditions.

  • May occasionally work in areas with large industrial equipment subject to high noise levels and hazardous chemicals.

  • Hourly Rate $50.00-$65.00/ hour (Non-Exempt)

  • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. CSI reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the selected candidate's qualifications.
