Job Description
Pay rate for position: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
This position schedule is considered a C ompressed Work Week - Front End Nights - Every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday. 5:30 pm - 6:00 am
POSITION SUMMARY:
Sr.Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance of wafer fabrication assembly and facilities equipment for production lines. Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing downed equipment and makes recommendations to engineering staff for establishment and implementation of periodic equipment maintenance. Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts. Rebuilds manufacturing equipment, making recommendations to engineering staff for improved equipment performance. Makes recommendations to and performs equipment modifications in support supervisors, managers and engineers.
SKILL: As a highly skilled specialist, contributes to the development of concepts and techniques. Completes complex tasks in creative and effective ways.
JOB COMPLEXITY: Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. Makes recommendations for new procedures.
SUPERVISION: Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Often leads or supervises the activities of other nonexempt personnel.
EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a minimum of 6+ years of related experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for the maintenance of wafer fabrication assembly and facilities equipment for production lines.
Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing downed equipment
Makes recommendations to engineering staff for establishment and implementation of periodic equipment maintenance.
Use test and diagnostic equipment to perform troubleshooting and repair wafer fabrication assembly and facilities equipment.
Required to ensure other technicians adhere to departmental quality, safety, quantity and teamwork requirements.
Rebuilds manufacturing equipment, making recommendations to engineering staff for improved equipment performance.
Makes recommendations to and performs equipment modifications in support supervisors, managers and engineers.
Responsible for identifying PM’s to support stability of waferfabrication assembly and facilities equipment for production lineswith minimal assistance.
Technician responsible for training of peers on process and operational improvement and equipment maintenance.
Responsible for scheduling and working with outside contractors for equipment maintenance covered by service contracts
Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and often leads or supervises the activities of other nonexempt personnel.
Collects and evaluates operating and process data and recommends means to improve operational processes.
Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues.
Makes recommendations for new procedures.
May lead or supervisor other technicians in tasks or projects to improve operational processes.
Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues.
May participate in safety forums, Emergency Response Teams and station improvement teams.
Discusses technical problems encountered with supervisor or engineering personnel.
Works from formal and informal written/verbal instructions, specifications, technical manuals and engineering sketches.
Trained in proper handling of chemicals and hazardous waste.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITY:
May lead or supervise the activities of other nonexempt personnel.
May lead or supervisor other technicians in tasks or projects to improve operational processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:
High school degree or equivalent and 6 or more years of related experience.
Experience working with one or more of the following: high vacuum equipment, lithography tools, wet benches and/or measurement equipment.
Ability to trouble shoot, diagnose and repair wafer fabrication assembly and facilitate equipment for product lines, with minimal assistance.
Basic computer skills including the use of standard office software, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Ability to work effectively as a member of a diverse team, as well as individually.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be highly organized.
Must be a self-starter and comfortable working in an ambiguous environment.
Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Must be a fast-learner.
Knowledge of WIP management principles.
Must be able to be trained in proper handling of chemicals and hazardous waste.
DESIRED:
Associate’s degree or higher.
Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Past supervisor or lead experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works in wafer fabrication and clean room environment, requiring clean room gowning (smock, hood, gloves, booties, etc.)
Exposure to moderate noise levels.
Exposure to stored energy hazards (electricity, compressed gases, etc.)
Works in a facility that houses hazardous chemicals.
May potentially handle hazardous waste in accordance with the safe work practices defined in Hazardous Communication and Hazardous Waste training programs. Initial training is required upon hiring status and every 3 years thereafter. Employees handling hazardous waste will insure that waste containers in their work areas are properly labeled and dated. Employees will ensure that waste containers are closed after transferring waste to them. Report any incidents involving hazardous waste to supervisor.
