Johnson & Johnson is hiring for a Manufacturing Technician I – Shockwave Medical to join our team located in Santa Clara, CA .

Our Shockwave Medical portfolio aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.
Position Overview
The Manufacturing Technician performs complex or specialized technical assignments usually in the nature of projects, which requires the ability to work independently. Uses considerable judgment, a high degree of initiative, creative approaches in troubleshooting, and adapts to rapidly shifting priorities and a fast-paced environment. The Manufacturing technician monitors and improves manufacturing processes and makes recommendations for continuous improvement of work processes for Manufacturing Engineering.
Essential Job Functions
Supports day-to-day manufacturing operations through process and equipment troubleshooting. Evaluates and analyzes manufacturing processes to find ways to improve efficiency and quality.
Performs maintenance activities as assigned including preventative, corrective, equipment moves/transfers, emergency repairs, scheduling, asset initiation and decomissioning
Identifies opportunities to improve product flow, 5S, and mistake proofing in the manufacturing process, maintenance requirements and implements process improvements alongside engineers
Masters the processes, procedures and testing requirements used to build company products, and qualified to train new employees (including assemblers, technicians, engineers).
Updates and implements manufacturing procedures, work instructions, drawings, lot history records, data collection sheets and maintenance records to improve clarity and accuracy by redlining documents and initiating Document Change Orders
Collects and monitors process data and makes suggestions for improvements. Participates in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
Interacts and communicates frequently with operators and engineers to ensure the highest quality of products and processes.
Contributes to the development of processes and/or fixtures and tooling. Ability to read, understand and update engineering drawings and specifications.
Support testing and provide data to Engineers for qualification and validation studies.
Assists in transferring products from R&D environment to commercial production and between manufacturing sites. Leads training sessions related to procedures and processes
Needs to be available to support production on Saturdays, as needed.

Requirements
High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience
Minimum of three (3) years’ of experience in a medical device environment or equivalent experience in a similar work environment.
Experience performing maintenance activities and working in a CMMS (Maximo preferred)
Understanding and experience with 5S, Lean and waste reduction in manufacturing.
Exposure to Solidworks (preferred), Pro-E, AutoCAD or other CAD software
Written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively at all levels.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
Operate as a team and/or independently while demonstrating flexibility to changing requirements.
There may be continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)
Employee may be required to lift objects up to 25lbs or more. Employees will be required to work in an air-conditioned office space and possibly perform some tasks in our non-controlled temperature warehouse space.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$40,250.00 - $64,802.50
