Role
Manages and optimizes agreed-upon inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted flow of raw materials and components from the supply chain to the manufacturing facility.
What you'll do
Ensure inventory storeroom conditions comply with product-specific requirements (handling, storage, and safety standards).
Lead staffing, development, coaching, and performance management of materials management personnel.
Defining and maintaining optimal inventory levels. Performing inventory analysis and making recommendations for stock levels.
Coordinate maintenance, support, and continuous improvement of inventory management systems and tools.
Education Required
Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Mechatronics, Business Administration, Mechanical Industrial Engineering, or related.
Advanced English proficiency (conversational and professional).
What skills the ideal candidate will have:
Data Gathering & Analysis
Solid background in procurement and purchasing (minimum of 3 years) with the ability to analyze key sourcing information.
Strong ability to collect, interpret, and utilize data to support strategic purchasing decisions.
Ability to leverage internal CAT systems and reports to support sourcing and inventory decisions.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking
Ability to evaluate alternatives and make timely decisions under pressure and with a strong sense of urgency.
Skill in identifying improvement opportunities and resolving issues within the supply process.
Effective Communications
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with suppliers and internal teams (site, segment, category).
Strong customer service orientation, ensuring professional interactions and prompt resolution of requests.
Inventory Management – MFG
Knowledge of inventory management within manufacturing environments, aligned with purchasing and sourcing processes.
Deep understanding of internal inventory policies, MRP parameters, and facility-specific material flows.
Ability to coordinate optimal material levels through ongoing analysis and follow-up.
Planning and Organizing
Ability to plan and organize procurement activities, ensuring deadlines and operational objectives are met.
Leadership skills to coordinate negotiations, projects, and priorities with suppliers and internal teams.
Top Candidate Profile
Supervisory background with proven ability to lead teams and oversee procurement-related activities.
Strong knowledge of SAP (MM / MRP) aligned with Caterpillar internal processes.
Advanced English proficiency.
Skilled in process automation and digitalization, including tools such as Power BI and Power Apps.
