This role is designed for a highly seasoned Latin America security professional with 15+ years of experience managing complex geopolitical risks, leading regional protection programs, and guiding multinational organizations through dynamic threat environments.
The Regional Security Manager (RSM) will lead large‑scale regional security initiatives, mentor security teams, and implement advanced security strategies tailored to Latin America operational, cultural, and political contexts.
Responsibilities emphasize senior‑level leadership, cross‑functional collaboration, advanced risk mitigation, and strategic decision‑making tailored to high‑risk, high‑visibility environments in Latin America.
What You Will Do:
Regional Security Management
Oversee and continually assess Caterpillar’s Latin America regional security profile, enhancing intelligence gathering and reporting from local, regional, and international sources.
Build and sustain high‑level relationships with government, law enforcement, private security firms, and regional networks to support enterprise security objectives.
Direct the development, implementation, and continuous refinement of regional security plans, SOPs, and contingency measures.
Maintains/manages liaison relationships with internal and external security professionals, oversees security related agreements and working relationships with private security companies and local networks.
What You Have (Basic Skills Required):
Organizational Leadership & Talent Development
Lead recruitment, training, and long-term development of security professionals across multiple Latin American locations, ensuring operational alignment with organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
Provide advanced mentorship focused on elevating security capabilities, analytical rigor, and cultural fluency across various Caterpillar facilities throughout Latin America.
Advanced Planning & Strategy
Develop sophisticated tactical and operational plans aligned with multi‑year strategic objectives.
Integrate security planning into business development, expansion initiatives, asset protection, and regional risk forecasting.
Risk Management Expertise
Lead enterprise-wide risk assessment programs specific to Latin America geopolitical, operational, and regulatory landscapes.
Establish region‑specific risk thresholds, controls, and mitigation strategies for a complex and rapidly evolving threat environment.
Decision Making & Critical Thinking
Serve as a senior advisor on complex security decisions, using structured methodologies to evaluate risk, resource allocation, and long‑term outcomes.
Drive data-based decision processes for critical incidents, emergencies, and executive protection considerations.
Global & Cross-Cultural Collaboration
Lead multinational, cross-functional working groups focused on regional security enhancement.
Champion collaboration practices and technologies that support productive engagement across cultures, languages, and diverse stakeholder groups.
Personnel Security Leadership
Design and implement personnel security programs customized for high‑risk Latin American environments.
Conduct workplace violence analyses, threat assessments, and expert-level reviews of internal security postures.
Security Operations Management
Oversee site security enforcement, access control, and investigations across multiple high‑profile facilities.
Maintain senior-level coordination with local law enforcement agencies and government partners.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Direct analytic efforts producing high-impact reports, cost-benefit evaluations, and advanced risk dashboards.
Establish quality standards for data accuracy, reporting tools, and analytic methodologies.
Training Program Leadership
Oversee the creation of regional training strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational transformation and emerging threats.
Manage training budgets, performance metrics, and long-term capability development initiatives.
What will Put you Ahead (Preferred Skills/Experience):
15+ years of progressive security leadership experience, primarily in Latin American regions.
Proven expertise in regional risk assessment, crisis management, personnel safety, cultural intelligence, and geopolitical analysis.
Demonstrated history of overseeing complex security operations across multi-country environments.
Ability to collaborate with senior executives, government bodies, and cross-functional global teams.
Regional language proficiency (Spanish, Portuguese, English, or others depending on operational scope).
Experience leading security programs for US government or multinational corporations in Latin America.
Advanced academic credentials (e.g., Security Studies, International Relations) or equivalent field experience.

This role will be based onsite in Irving, TX

Summary Pay Range:
$159,120.00 - $238,680.00
