Job Title: Quality Supervisor

Job Description

Looking for a day shift Quality Supervisor in a large electronics manufacturing facility in Santa Ana, CA. Pay will be based on experience but typically between $35-$45 an hour (option to be higher with the experience). The Quality Supervisor will oversee day-shift quality operations and work with a team of 12-15. This role uses strong technical knowledge of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and industry standards to make timely, accurate decisions about product acceptance and to ensure that all quality requirements are consistently met on the production floor.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize in-depth technical knowledge of PCBAs and applicable industry standards to make timely and accurate decisions regarding product acceptance or rejection.

  • Oversee the work of quality inspectors to ensure that product quality requirements and specifications are consistently met.

  • Manage the identification, segregation, and documentation of nonconforming material as recorded in production by all personnel.

  • Review existing inspection processes, tools, and systems, and drive improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and consistency.

  • Coordinate inspection priorities in alignment with internal customer needs to meet departmental goals and production schedules.

  • Participate in discussions with customers and auditors as needed to support audits, reviews, and quality-related inquiries.

  • Collaborate on cross-departmental and divisional projects related to inspection activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Apply inspection principles and techniques based on IPC/J-STD certifications to support independent decision-making.

  • Ensure accurate use of measurement tools and gauges, such as calipers and micrometers, during inspection activities.

  • Support and reinforce adherence to documented quality procedures, standards, and work instructions on the production floor.

  • Provide guidance, direction, and day-to-day supervision to inspection personnel to maintain high performance and quality standards.

  • Assist with planning and organizing inspection workloads to meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Communicate clearly with production, engineering, and quality teams regarding quality issues, trends, and corrective actions.

Essential Skills

  • At least 5 years of electronics manufacturing experience, including at least 2 years in inspection activities aligned with IPC-610 and related standards.

  • Experience working with printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).

  • Strong understanding of IPC-610 and J-STD standards and their application to electronic assemblies.

  • Ability to make independent judgments using inspection principles and techniques as learned through IPC/J-STD certifications.

  • Hands-on experience with quality inspection and quality control in an electronics manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

  • Skilled in the use of measurement tools and gauges such as calipers, micrometers, and torque tools.

  • Demonstrated experience supervising or leading inspection or quality personnel.

  • Effective multitasking skills and the ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and interacting with internal teams and external parties.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in inspection and documentation.

  • Demonstrated discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment, and professionalism in handling sensitive information.

  • Effective interpersonal skills for working with customers, auditors, and employees across departments.

  • Solid planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills in a production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with electronics manufacturing environments and processes.

  • Experience using a variety of inspection tools, gauges, and measurement equipment.

  • Experience in quality assurance, quality inspection, and quality control methodologies.

  • Knowledge of industry standards such as AS9100 and related quality system requirements.

  • Comfort working with projects that may require security clearances and compliance with export control regulations.

  • Ability to contribute to cross-functional projects focused on inspection and continuous improvement.

  • Aptitude for mentoring and supporting the development of inspection staff as they advance to higher-level roles.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SANTA ANA, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
