Job Title: Mold Cleaner Operator
Job Description
The Mold Cleaner/Tool Shop Assistant is responsible for grinding and cleaning production tools according to specifications in a timely and efficient manner. The primary responsibility is to support the Tooling Manager with the tooling activities of the tool and mold shop, in addition to supporting plant manufacturing.
1st shift - 6am to 2:30pm
$19.50/hr
Responsibilities
Grinding tools, welding hinges, and handles.
Cleaning production tools efficiently and timely according to the daily schedule.
Locating tooling in mold storage racks and replacing tooling in the appropriate location.
Notifying the team when required tooling is ready for production and/or delivering tooling to the production floor.
Monitoring tooling wear and damage, such as hinges, pins, and bushings, and notifying the supervisor.
Maintaining adherence to company policies, safety/ergonomic standards, and good housekeeping practices.
Understanding and implementing health and safety policies and integrating them into daily work activities.
Maintaining hand tools and air hoses.
Inspecting equipment such as mills, vertical/horizontal saws, drills, grinders, and all lifting equipment.
Inspecting machines for oil and air leaks.
Lubricating machines with the correct oils and grease.
Inspecting all incoming steel/aluminum for size and defects.
Preparing plates for tooling manufacturing.
Reading and understanding basic drawings of tools/parts.
Essential Skills
General labor and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Spanish speaking is acceptable.
Eager and positive attitude.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Entry-level position, no experience or resume needed.
Past production/manufacturing experience is nice to have.
Motivated and willing to learn and work hard.
English is not required; managers are Spanish speaking but open to all cultural backgrounds.

Work Environment
The facility specializes in producing rubber parts for the aerospace industry using numerous injection molding machines and hot presses. It is a lean six sigma environment that is extremely organized, ensuring a place for everything from products to office supplies. While the machines can get hot, AC units are operational at all times to maintain a comfortable temperature. This is an ITAR facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Ana, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
