Job Description
This position leads a high‑performing team of avionics technicians while remaining actively involved in hands‑on installations, troubleshooting, and system integration. The role suits an experienced avionics professional who combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership, ensuring high-quality work on General Aviation and corporate jet platforms, with a particular focus on Garmin and other major avionics manufacturers.
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and support a team of avionics technicians to achieve high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.
Oversee day‑to‑day avionics maintenance and installation activities, ensuring projects meet technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
Perform hands‑on installation, integration, and testing of avionics systems on General Aviation and corporate jet aircraft.
Troubleshoot complex avionics issues, diagnose faults, and carry out effective repairs on a variety of aircraft platforms.
Specialize in the installation, configuration, and support of Garmin avionics systems such as G1000, G5000, and GTN series equipment.
Resolve squawks and perform comprehensive end‑to‑end system checks to verify proper operation and reliability of installed systems.
Read, interpret, and apply wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to plan and execute avionics tasks accurately.
Coordinate with other maintenance personnel and stakeholders to ensure efficient workflow and minimal aircraft downtime.
Maintain meticulous documentation of work performed, including installations, inspections, troubleshooting steps, and repairs.
Promote and enforce adherence to safety procedures, quality standards, and best practices within the avionics team.
Essential Skills
Extensive hands‑on experience installing and troubleshooting avionics systems on General Aviation and corporate jet aircraft.
Proficiency with Garmin avionics systems, including platforms such as G1000, G5000, and GTN series.
Proven ability to install, integrate, and test avionics equipment from major manufacturers.
Demonstrated experience resolving squawks and performing complete end‑to‑end system checks.
Ability to read, interpret, and apply wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, mentor, and coordinate a team of technicians.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Background in aircraft maintenance, avionics repair, or related technical aviation disciplines.
Hands‑on experience with electrical and electronic systems in aircraft environments.
Previous experience supervising or overseeing avionics or maintenance teams.
Strong problem‑solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting complex systems.

This is a Permanent position based out of Santa Ana, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
